Celebrating Florida Noir Film and Literature
The Second Annual Florida Noir Festival
*Included free; 8th ANNUAL GULF COAST WRITERS CONFERENCE*

It’s a bitter little world, baby—at least it is at the Second Annual Florida Noir Festival.
The festival, which celebrates the noir film and literature of the Sunshine State, will take place Saturday, July 21, 2007 in Panama City, Florida at Gulf Coast Community College. It is sponsored by Pottersville Press, publishers of North Florida Noir, and the forthcoming, Florida Noir Volume I.
This exciting Festival will include noir script and novel competitions, panels, presentations, readings, and film screenings. The winner of the noir novel writing contest will have his or her novel published in 2008 by Pottersville Press. Festival speakers include Michael Lister, Steve Glassman, Karl Horstmann, Lynn Wallace, Tony Simmons, Mary Anna Evans, Jack Saunders, Elam Stolzfus, and many others. The writers North Florida Noir will do readings and talk about Florida noir.
The winner of the noir short story contest will be published in Florida Noir Volume I.
Festival organizer and noir novelist, Michael Lister had this to say, “Florida has noir all its own. From the rural highways of the panhandle to the mean streets of Miami, evil deeds are done everywhere under the sun. There’s a dark side to the Sunshine State, a bleakness beneath the natural beauty. The Second Annual Florida Noir Festival explores and appreciates the art inspired by the gun-shaped state, and introduces and celebrates its practitioners.”
Don't miss the screenings of the noir classics, Miami Blues and In a Lonely Place.
